GOLDEN GLOBE HOTELS APPROACH HC FOR LICENSE

GOLDEN GLOBE HOTEL

The fates of Goan casinos hang in the balance as the election results are set to be announced on March 12. Golden Globe Hotels Private Limited has filed a writ petition in the Goa High Court seeking a gaming license for its casino (sixth offshore one in Goa). Goa is the premier destination for those who play poker in India live.

5 other casinos based in Goa are also at the mercy of the government. However, Golden Globes has decided not to dilly-dally and gone ahead with a legal move to obtain its license. The High Court has booked April 6 as the date for the hearing.

In the petition,  Golden Globes has stated that Goan officials were yet to provide them permissions, besides authorizing change-of-use for its selected vessel. Previously, the company had functioned aboard Casino Mint.

Earlier in January, Golden Globes filed a petition in the Bombay High Court declaring that despite paying the requisite fees, it had not obtained a license for operations.
