Bengaluru Poker club
A representative of Kings and Queens Poker Club, one of the more popular poker joints in the city, says, "We usually have poker games happening at 3-4 tables, with 40-50 people on average. But during the festive season, and especially during Diwali, it goes up to 7-8 tables, which is 80-90 people. Since card games are closely associated with the festival, we see this kind of an increase in players every Diwali. Also, our peak season starts from October-end, all the way till New Year, so the season's start perfectly coincides with the festival."
The city has close to 10 such poker clubs, most of which get busier than usual during the Diwali season. These clubs apart, many of the city's residents host card game parties too.
