Players will have a new addition for their WSOP International Circuit schedule this calendar year (2017-18), with the Netherlands to be the new feature to its list of countries. The new stop will run between August 25 and September, and will be held at the newly constructed Holland Casino Rotterdam.
CEO of the Holland Casino, Erwin van Lambaart, told the media, “We are proud of the collaboration between Holland Casino and the largest poker brand in the world. The WSOP is a wonderful addition to our already broad range of poker, and it has national and international allure.”
The Holland Casino also hosts other international poker events, like the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam, editions of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in Amsterdam and Valkenburg.
Additionally, The Dutch Open Poker Series, Netherlands’ poker championship, is held at the Holland Casino in Breda each year.
On the itinerary will be 13 events and 12 rings to be won. The €1,650 Main Event will start on August 29 and conclude on Sept. 2. Like all its other international stops, the victors of the WSOP Rotterdam Main Event and the leader board winner will receive a direct entry to the WSOP Global Casino Championship, which features a guaranteed prize pool of one million dollars.
Presently, the WSOP International Circuit has 14 countries on its reputed tour and these include Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and the Czech Republic.
