The Asian Poker Tour (APT) now features a new poker room at the Winford Hotel and Casino, Manila. The brand had a quiet launch of the room on Friday, March 31, 2017. An official grand launch will be held on Friday April 21, 2017, with a two-day poker event that has a P200,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Speaking about the lofty venue, Atty. Alfonso Reyno Jr., Chairman and CEO of the Winford Hotel & Casino said, “Most of the casinos that have poker games are all in the South. We are the nearest from the North. We cater to Manila, especially to the Chinatown districts, and are also very close to Quezon City, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Malabon, Mecauayan and Navotas. We are the only five-star poker club that will be operating in this area. In terms of location, I will say we are opening up a new area for this sport. There are a lot of good players who have to travel over an hour just to get to the poker rooms but with the new room here, it will only take them 15-20 minutes. With that said, we chose APT because we wanted to partner with the best poker club. It is one of the leading poker clubs in the country and in the world.”

The Winford Hotel and Casino is a premium property exuding luxury and class situated in San Lazaro Tourism and Business Park which earlier used to be a popular horse-racing track.

Players will be able to revel in enhanced services at the new poker room, that is a far cry from its predecessor. Ranging from a private entrance to a separate enclosed space, the new room is on the second level of the casino and features four exclusive APT poker tables for cash games that commence at P25-P50 going upward.

Also, the venue will also host tournaments throughout the year and Raymond Gamier, Operations Manager of the APT Poker Room stated, “The Winford is open to providing extra space and tables for any small tournaments we may have. At most, it will be a weekend series with low-mid affordable buy-ins for the locals. Of course, when the APT has an event in the Philippines, we will have events to help feed it.”

Visitors to the casino will have two floors specifically for the popular table games, slot machines, and betting counters for a wide array of games. The third floor has been booked for VIP junkets with a ballroom able to host 600 guests on the fourth.

The Winford will additionally offer patrons spa, world-class cuisine and 128 posh residential rooms.

APT had inaugurated its first-ever poker room in 2015 at the Manila Pavilion Casino Filipino in Ermita, Manila, Philippines.
