Enthusiasts of poker are certainly familiar with prominent poker player Phil Hellmuth. In recent news, the holder of 14 WSOP bracelets was defeated in a heads-up battle against Art Papazyan in the WPT Legends of Poker Main Event.
The Season XVI WPT Legends of Poker Main Event drew a total 763 entries making it the second-largest sized field in WPT Legends of Poker Main Event history. The total prize pool generated was a whopping $2.738 million and the top 81 places earned at least $7,135. Conquering them all was Art Papazyan who collected a cool $668,692 for his first-place finish including a $15,000 seat into the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions.
The last hand of the Main Event saw Hellmuth opening to 600,000 and Papazyan declaring all-in holding . Hellmuth called possessing a better . Papazyan got a pair of queens on the flop but Hellmuth also picked up a gutshot straight draw. The turn gave Hellmuth outs as he now had a flush draw too but the river sealed the victory and the title for Papazyan.
