Earlier this year, World Poker Tour declared that it would expand its brand in Asia. Poker in India is set to receive a boost with its first-ever WPT India series running from 7th to 13th November aboard the India’s biggest and most luxurious casino – Deltin Royale Goa.
WPT India series is not only expected to cement India in the global poker space, but it is also believed that the series will attract the biggest field for any live event in the history of Indian poker. The series will begin on 7th November and will be highlighted by 55K Main Event from 10th to 13th November.
The series will also feature WPT India Player of the Year (POY) Award. The POY leaderboard points will be based on the rankings from Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) July, DPT September, WPT India and finally the 2018 DPT events scheduled prior to the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions.
The victor of the WPT India POY will earn a $5,000 buy-in credit for WPT events as well as Deltin events during Season XVII of WPT.
For those enthusiasts of poker in India who are unaware, there are only six weeks left in the poker tournament season.
For those enthusiasts of poker in India keeping close tabs on the POY Title, they would be happy to know that Chris Ferguson has clinched the 2017 POY Title.
Enthusiasts of poker in India will be excited to learn that the APT Championships is set to return to Macau in 2018.
