PokerStars has declared a new brand, christened the PokerStars London Series in collaboration with the city’s grand Hippodrome Casino. The series will feature five editions in 2017 with all except one, featuring a buy-in of £275 and the exception being a £550 Super event held in August.
“While being committed to growing the game globally, PokerStars is also investing in promoting poker in local communities in the U.K. The new London Series is designed to bring together the most loved parts of the Hippodrome Classics and the U.K. & Ireland Poker Series and make them even better for poker players living in and visiting London,” said Eric Hollreiser, Vice President, Corporate Communications.
The festival has been planned off feedback from players visiting the UKIPT Series and the Hippodrome Classics and will have deeper stacks, longer blind levels, extended late registrations, besides bigger guarantees.
The series will kick off with a four-day event on March 2 featuring a £40,000 guarantee. Players will receive an opening stack of 25,000 and there will be four starting flights. Furthermore, the last starting flight will feature a turbo format.
Players knocked out in earlier flights, will be able to re-enter in later flights. Late registration will remain available until the sixth blind level in each flight.
