Followers of poker who are active on Twitter were in for some entertainment as two of the biggest names in poker went head-to-head. Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu indulged in a social media tussle that might have led to a humongous bet.
14-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth is notorious for his display of frustrations on the poker table. But can he claim that he’s the best in a mind sport like poker?
Hellmuth recently engaged in lengthy twitter banter with pro Daniel Negreanu after he recently spoke about the new breed of poker players, saying, “These guys have worked real hard on their game the past couple years where I haven’t, and Phil thinks he’s the one seed – it’s delusional. It’s not real life.”
Following this, Hellmuth even asked for a list of players who Negreanu thinks are better and proposed a huge bet. But, when Negreanu presented the detailed list, nothing was confirmed. Everyone wondered if there was a bet in place and when the prop bet conversation began to get some traction, Hellmuth backed down. What followed after was a lengthy battle of words on the popular social media platform.
