The Casino Deltin Royale is currently playing host to the inaugural WPT India, a tournament which has so far attracted many enthusiasts of poker. The weeklong bonanza began on November 7 and will conclude on November 13 after the ₹55K Main Event crowns a champion.
The ₹30K Superstack NLH event, second of the series, drew a solid field of 284 runners with the top 31 places cashing out. The last man standing was Sandeep Tulsyan who earned a payday of ₹19 lakhs for his finish.
Tulsyan who had started the final table with the lowest chip total, climbed his way to the top and eventually had double the stack of his opponent. The final hand of the event saw Tulsyan shoving with pocket fives and Jalan called with Ks, 2s. The community cards offered no hope to Abhishek Jalan, which allowed Tulsyan to clinch the title.
